What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique where energy or “Ki”, is used to promote healing. Reiki is a special kind of Ki that is guided by spiritual awareness. The patient lies down to promote relaxation and the Reiki healer uses Ki to emit an energy field upon the patient. Usually imbalances in the seven chakras are addressed, however April takes the Reiki healing one step further. By using her experience as an acupuncturist she also targets the meridians where the acupuncture points are located, thereby enhancing the Reiki experience. Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In its long history it has been used as a tool to facilitate healing for virtually every known disease. Reiki sessions last 50 minutes and can be combined with acupuncture treatments for an ultimate healing session. Please contact the main office for more information.

April has two children. She enjoys working with women who are having problems conceiving. April believes that whether the patient is trying to get pregnant naturally or is using an ART, Oriental Medicine can help the woman achieve an optimal state of health so as to help her body become more receptive and responsive to the reproductive procedures. She has a strong Western medical background based in microbiology. She understands the importance of both Allopathic and Oriental Medicine and feels that each is a complement to one another and not a replacement. This is why April practices a philosophy where she works in conjunction with reproductive endocrinologists to help the patient get pregnant and have happy and healthy babies.
April’s experience as a healer has taught her how to use the body’s Qi to help promote health and emotional stability. Her experience has taught her that there is often a psychological connection with one’s health and illness. There is a mind-body relationship. April looks at the body as a whole and attempts to bring balance to the patient in order to alleviate whatever the ailment is, whether it is digestive and/or emotional. Thus, she obtains excellent results with people who suffer from digestive disorders.
In addition, April possesses a keen insight into the needs and views of others and is able to listen with compassion and non-judgment in order to help the patient. By working as a Reiki practitioner with many diverse individuals April has learned the importance of patience and respect.
